InterCity Midland Mainline, as it was back then, a route I got to know like the back of my hand.
43049 ‘Neville Hill’ powers towards Clay Cross junction with a service from Sheffield to London St.Pancras. InterCity at its finest.

Well here we are again! 3J51, The 2025 York RHTT Wolds diagram passes through York heading out towards Scarborough. Colas liveried 37254 ‘Cardiff Canton’ up front, and 37175 at the back. Wonderful!

The interim Huddersfield station layout is now in use, with 2 through platforms and a bay. It resembles a slightly brighter version of Manchester Victoria!
802201 Blocks the westbound platform for 18 minutes…🤨 Whilst 150204 awaits a trip to Sheffield.

Images like this bring back such great memories of going on ‘All Line Rovers.’ I adored these units, and enjoyed travelling the South East in comfort, and warmth! The sound of those slam doors, and those motors, it all comes flooding back!

Morning all, I hope everyone is okay.
Open wide! CAF built class 397 seen at Longsight Depot with its nose end doors open. Always remember to fit the locking pins, otherwise you’ll get eaten!
Hope you all have a great Sunday. 🙂

Finally managed to catch with 91105 (91150) ‘National Railway Museum 50 Years 1975-2025’. The vinyls do look mighty impressive, albeit the nameplate looks to be oxidising and discolouring very quickly!

GBRf 60026 ‘Helvellyn’ powers out of Leeds with 60095 ‘Whernside’ in tow heading for Hunslet with 6D70.
Maximum grumble from the big Mirrlees 8MB275T, not the cleanest runner it has to be said, but mighty impressive.

Today marks 200 years since George Stephenson’s Locomotion no. 1 hauled passengers between Shildon, Darlington, and Stockton; changing the world.
Through progress and connections, hardship and decline, rail endures as a symbol of resilience & hope for the journeys yet to come.
