I once titled a video "Deadly Dozen Reloaded: A remake of a game no one played" and it did well. Proud of that one

ha that is very spot on to how I feel too

Totally relate. It's also wild to me that it has a few unique cities to travel between but they each carry the same beige whatever look to them

also I feel a bit bad about saying this about a budget game but I find the visuals in Session to be really ugly, like I don't know what it is about it, there's just a weird Unreal Engine-y ick to the look of it that just bothers me. I'm fully aware that this is a petty criticism

It's comfortably in the "game I want to like more than I do" bracket, but then I'll occasionally land something which feels fantastic. If a sequel to this game had Skate money that focused on polish it'd be cooking. For now I feel this weird unique mix of frustration and amusement

the titles being like "Stop Defending x game" or "Stop Buying x game series" made me impulsively mutter "get fucked" to my computer screen

I didn't know what you were talking about here so I went and had a look and I gotta say, It's Bad

I seem to be in the minority at least! Just bummed out because the first was such a pleasant surprise for me

I just reckon the first Wicked was filled with whimsy and humour, and it had nice themes and messaging, whereas Wicked For Good stripped away all of that. Why is it all dour and weird and why do any of the characters make any of the decisions they do. More like Wicked For Bad am I right

mitch do you recommend the first two. has this journey been worth it

I think Sonic The Hedgehog nerds go through this a lot too, because I liked Frontiers quite a bit and very often got asked how I could possibly enjoy a game that "looks so bad"

green guy imho

I haven't really been into the stories outside of spectacle for a very long time so the issues there didn't phase me, what I really liked about MW22 was the multiplayer pace, progression (controversial), and ESPECIALLY the maps. I think it's maps are maybe the best the series has ever seen

Also my COD hot take is that MWII was the best COD in the last decade. Thanks for listening. I'll post about a niche game soon to offset these filthy normie posts

I've bought or gamepass'd every COD on release for the last 5 years or so (and I deserve to be judged for this sicko behaviour) but I'm not bothering with BLOPS7. Maybe I'll grab it if BF6 runs out of steam but idk, the trajectory COD is on seems boring. And I don't even mind the silly aesthetics

I generally try and avoid sharing any "games used to be better" takes because it lumps me in with some odd people, and also because it's untrue in a lot of ways, but as someone who plays a lot of good and bad old games, I think AAA games were in a golden age around the PS2-era, hence all the remakes
November 13, 2025 at 6:25 AM
It's fun to think that a game this quaint was once on the bleeding edge, but that thought trails into being a bit melancholy. There was a time when a AAA game could be made in under a year and have a carefree vibe as a result. Not to romanticise the past too much but we used to be a goddamn country
