26 Oct 25: By A Long Chalk, a guided walk of Chalk Farm and Primrose Hill, through the lens of ‘pace layers’, Stewart Brand’s model for the ever-interacting layers of civilisation: steam trains and secret vaults, geology and gin, duels and druids, tunnels, taverns and towpaths. minimumlabyrinth.org
Goe no more to Brainford is our ninth London walk. We go westward, to the old town of Brentford: more ancient than London, and on occasion more noisome. Join us for tranquil rivers, art deco wonders, proper pubs, and a poignant history of transience and travel. 8/9 Nov 2025. minimumlabyrinth.org
Excellent vork. This 'viper' sounds like a human viper of vindows. So even if they are wehicular, the viper itself is non-mechanical. This is indeed a rabbit hole
Interesting contender - looks like the wipers are a late addition, but not sure when en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Whe...

Splendid. I'm talking about the Trico-Folberth windscreen wiper factory in Brentford - an American firm on British soil - so I think this distinction is of no small importance. You say tomato, I say tomato, etc.
An important question that @whenisbirths.bsky.social (or others) may be able to answer. Is Genesis's 1974 classic prog rock album, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, the first use of the phrase 'windscreen wiper' in any lyrics, or does anything pre-date this?
Sunday 7 September is now sold out, but there are still spaces available on Saturday 6 September for Doin' The Lambeth Walk (Oi!). This is the final date in 2025 so make sure you book now if you would like to see it. minimumlabyrinth.org
What a poetic time we had on Saturday on the Peter Ackroyd Thames Walk 2025. 28 pilgrims; 14km from Westminster to Rotherhithe; 8 pubs; and 170 million years of riverine history. And thanks to your marvellous generosity, @areamancm.bsky.social and I raised £1,215 for Trees for Cities and CF Trust.
