Surely you're not suggesting that calling Trump a dick from the press pool is tantamount to the American Revolution.
Maybe you're right. No family + no kids = NBD to be jobless. I'm not against their choice to do as you and Mr. Walsh suggest. I only said i won't fault them for not doing so.

I wish I agreed with you. I truly do. But the respected and reputable outlets you describe are currently downsizing.
The outlook for traditional journalism in the US, esp. with current growth of AI, is pretty grim. I won't fault someone for not sacrificing their livelihood for a sound byte.

I respect this post, but how does a long weekend rebuild their career? Trump is a POS, but he is also POTUS and very capable of destroying lives/livelihoods as he has shown. Your offer is generous, but poor compensation for the cost in access and job security that this honesty would strip from them.

Your post in your article were a great read. You explain the experience of so many, both with the estranged parent as well as outsiders perspective on that estrangement, very well. It certainly matches my own experience. Thank you for sharing.

4/ The east wing is an apt analogy to DOGE. They broke it, and built something completely unrelated. The damage is catastrophic. Though it will likely never be as good, I only hope that, given time, we can rebuild what he has destroyed.

3/ Those of us who stayed are now incredibly overworked. They removed our unions and then changed our quotas. I'm easily putting in 20 hours of free work per bi-week, helping younger workers and meeting my own quotas.

Older skilled workers close to retirement? Instead of training the next generation, they just left. Not that training matters much, since they cut so much of it...

Much like my native brothers and sisters, we will likely never see justice for this tragedy. I only hope that she was able to find peace.
