This week I've spent a lot of time thinking about the readability of powerup deactivation effects- I want it to be easy to tell what's going on when everything else is exploding.

Ok, I guess I'll make one too- 10 games to get to know me.

Kind of a weird collection of stuff I think, but all 10 of these things have had a really profound effect on me, either purely as works of art or how I look at games as a medium.

Last year at GDC there was someone going around giving out little plastic ducks. I won't be going this year, but whoever you were, know that my partner christened ours Xiao Fen Yazi, and she's become a critically important part of our home.

It's been a hell of a long week, but I managed to get some serious aseprite work done in time for #screenshotsaturday
I've been working for a while to dial in an ultra-minimalist RPG combat system that's fast enough to fit into a bullet-hell context. With animations it's starting to feel good!
