OMG. I am so sorry, Ally. There is no reason for this. People trying to receive treatment for health issues should not have the added stress of dealing with insurance companies who only care about making money. We have the worst healthcare system but no one is talking about making it better. HUGS

Avatars replace reading and writing and thinking for yourself. Robots run the world and a few people get very rich.

And one of the ways information gets distorted is by terming it "misinformation" or "disinformation" instead of just stating it in terms people understand: THIS IS A LIE.
miriamsf.bsky.social
Maybe we should phrase it "HUMAN" as in: Speak with a HUMAN therapist instead of a robot. Read a book by a HUMAN instead of written by a robot. Listen to music written and performed by HUMANS instead of robots.

Auto correct is super annoying. Why can't we write our own texts without someone telling us how and what to write??? I wrote "I'll call you tomorrow" and it changed it to "I'll call you tomato's" and spelled tomatoes the way my middle schoolers spell😱

It's an excuse for insurance to not cover it

Wow, hope you get some relief. ❤️

I'm also wondering why professors are on board with this. If AI can write papers, grade them, & plan lessons, they will find themselves out of a job. But really, just give every kid a college a degree who knows how to plug assignments into AI if they don't have to use their brains or their voice.

What is the point? Why are you in an English class if AI is writing your papers for you? My daughter, who just got her MFA, thinks she was turned down for a community college job because when they asked her how she would integrate AI, she said she planned to use her own critical thinking.

I tried both of these ideas for building community for my opening week and it's been AMAZING. The What I Bring project has been the jumpstart I need to my school year. The creativity, the honesty, the personality, the effort these kids put into their projects....I was blown away.

OMG, I got "tired" too! I asked him for a more positive word but I guess that's the point of the assignment, to go with what feels authentic to you! Which, my student pointed out in more direct words, lol

A cream colored background with the image of a bakery displaying croissants in different variations taking up the bottom half of the poster. On display in the middle in a bright blue font is tge title Slice of Sapphire Skies with the following underneath in three separate rows: Mystery, Astrology, Bakery.
A quote from the novel is underneath the row of words: “Let your dreams puff up like marshmallows and memories ripen like limes.”

Between newfound magic skills, saving her Indian ancestor, juggling her studies, and dealing with her mother's disapproval, Sonali can not decipher Rav's mixed messages. Is her talking crow the only true friend? Time will tell...

Yes, you want to read this amazing NIV by this talented poet!

I feel compelled to share that the people in this quickly assembled PosterPit pitch are the actual portraits of her father Lord Byron, her Mother Lady Annabelle Milbank Byron, and Ada Lovelace. Only Ada is 7 in this portrait, not 12.

12yo #STEM genius Ada Lovelace hides prohibited poetry, & dreams of flight to freedom.

Both risk the volitile connection with mom.

She must persuade Lady Byron STEM & dreams are the future, or lose the tenuous connection completely.

What happens to books when they go out of print? Are there any writers on here who have self-published their books after their rights were reverted? #kidlit #writers #MG #YA #books #authors

Twelve-year-old Calliope’s summer plans change when magical notes appear out of nowhere. The family bakery facing foreclosure pushes her to dive into decoding the mystery. Could it lead to more than the end of Slice of Sapphire Skies?

Yes, we have to focus on the writing that makes us happy

Yes, the GN make these accessible for kids below grade level who want a bit more than Captain Underpants or Dogman (though all my 6th graders love these). A lot of complex novels now have GN versions. I also recommend audiobooks so they can learn to read more complex text with their minds!
miriamsf.bsky.social
These books are way too hard if your kid is below grade level. If just a reluctant reader, it could work. 6th grade RL, 60k-70k words, way too many words on a page. Struggling readers want short books, white space, 2nd-3rd RL. There are Warrior GN. There's a Magic Treehouse about Jackie Robinson.
