There’s this huge pile of building blocks right next to the road & Panhandle trail by where I live. I see it almost every day & have never used it before for pics until today. They’re all uneven & scattered & covered in moss - I love them!

Scale is something I think about a lot. Not just as a toy nerd, but like subatomically & cosmically. Life absolutely exists throughout the universe, & it seems plausible that humans could be ant-sized to some of those lifeforms

One day very soon, those of us still around will be forced into a corner with no other choice left to us but to wage a war against everything happening across the globe right now. And it feels like however things end - we’ve failed every basic test to prove our intelligence & empathy

Technology has given us a fair amount of useful inventions, some life-saving. And while corporate greed & human exploitation is nothing new, there has been a snowballing effect of money & power & resources rolling upward that has taken us beyond the point of no return.

And of course those most eagerly funding these initiatives will only use it for nefarious motives. Palantir & the like talk about massively invasive surveillance requiring countless data centers the size of Manhattan Island. Insanely & criminally unsustainable.

The immense amount of resources required to run these things is ungodly. While we’ve been struggling to provide water, electricity, land to live on & grow food & other necessities to humans around the globe for decades - every article I’ve read about AI cites a voracious requirement of the same.

Because it’s a gimmick designed to produce the illusion of creativity, as crooked as a snake oil salesman. And these companies have their hooks in from the top levels of government & military on down to the consumers. And it’s going to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

If it were truly capable of independent thought, you would see it being pushed towards inventing things useful towards humanity & our environment, to solving actual economical & sociological issues - but there is none of that.

What they sell as “AI” is technically not artificial intelligence - it’s an advanced algorithm-based search engine that collates data - much of which is unethically plagiarized - & composes responses based on codes & programming. It’s sleight of hand.

Yeah, I cleaned off a bunch of stuff I had stored on my back porch years ago and everything was full of their corpses. So many dried out little bodies
