Clearly a lot of women haven't actually met painters and writers. LOL

Why do you think most people aren't paying that? Shown is the LEAST amount my husband and I will pay on ACA. We don't have the option of an employer plan. We will opt for an *even higher* monthly cost plan because we WILL exceed that shown deductible - and we're relatively healthy!

Also: coverage through an employer means only that you're limited in your options of how much coverage you can get. If your employer is only willing to pay 50% of the highest deductible plan, you could still end up spending a lot more OOP for actual care than if you choose an ACA plan.

The other options you list are sad, inadequate, difficult to access versions of gov't paid healthcare funded via taxes.

I don't think you can make one statement about the quality or availability of care that describes all of those in one sentence the way you're trying to do.

Our 2026 monthly bill for the 2-person Covered California plan that is likely to cost us the least overall (because we do actually need & use it, despite being relatively healthy) will be more than our monthly rent. But hey, we qualify for a discount. 🫤

I hear this! Seconded. Blackwork is entirely different than outlining in backstitch! 😂

We carry two, wait, no, THREE, different brands of locally-made pasta in the "local stuff only" shop I manage.

It's not the price of supermarket pasta, but it's also better than my supermarket Barilla which (I checked) is already made in IA and NY.

Not when there's a plethora of white men genuinely just realizing he's a disaster and mansplaining his failures to those of us already well aware, no.

"and religion" is the bit that got me.

My schizophrenic father found patriarchal evangelicalism VERY helpful for avoiding treatment and justifying the abuse of his family... they condemned my mother for leaving him.

Fuck that shit.

Make the Goddamn meal and put it in your Free Fridge. Write the $100 check to the food bank. Ask your local school what they need for the kids and then go about trying to get that stuff.... Do these things regularly and you are making meaningful contributions to your communities.

I quit shopping because they cancelled their DEI initiatives: www.forbes.com/sites/dougme... Lots of other people have, too, which is why their stock has dropped, and probably also why they can't get good help, and the remaining staff don't take care of the place? Resistance takes many forms. 😉

Eliminating its DEI programs has been bad for Target's business - seemingly costing investors billions and the CEO his job.
