I’m in Vancouver and my family is in the Fraser Health region. I’m grateful af I’m not American but getting good end-of-life care for my dad was horrible because we couldn’t afford private care and facilities for him. Also his ambulance rides weren’t covered???

I could go on at length about the ways our system (particularly mental healthcare for seniors) failed my dad and how he wasn’t put into a proper facility until long after he was a danger to himself and my mother.

This isn’t me endorsing privatizing healthcare but our system is deeply flawed.

The government’s definition of “urgent” is inconsistent and extremely subjective.

My 80 year-old uncle won’t get seen for his back problem until next year. His quality of life has diminished significantly but he’s not dying and he can still walk so (albeit with 24/7 pain) nobody cares. They’re not all myths.

Not worth it then? I was going to hate-watch it but I don’t think I can watch characters I love so much get treated so badly.

Maybe I’ll start a new Witcher 3 run instead.
