Seven months since I pulled my last manuscript out of querying (and later shelved), and I am so excited to announce that I will be querying vamp wip: ALL MINE, MY HEART later this week (Wednesday, most likely). #agentguide

All Mine My Heart. An agent’s guide. Eighty-three thousand word contemporary fantasy with horror elements. Over close up of black woman in glasses left eye. Pitch. What is certainly not on that list is being turned into a vampire—nor being hunted by evangelical vampire hunters. It was a pitiful attempt at seeming unboth-ered. Cleo was only meant to be a ride home for her and Leah, a tight-lipped, unquestioning chauf-feur. Ivy supposed it was a ridiculous fantasy to ex-pect. And now she felt bare in a way she only felt in front of her family. She wasn't equipped with the tools to counteract the way her chest ached. She couldn't think of witty retorts to throw at her the way she did Leah. Couldn't use silence as cruelty like she so often did with Emerson. Instead, she was left with a stinging regret. She wished she hadn't called Cleo. She wished that, with a wave of her hand, she could repaint the memory in Cleo's mind.

But the pleasure in [REDACTED]'s face at seeing her succeed made her feel like a mouse beneath a pair of forceps. And he'd been staring at her the same way that night. The same opportunistic sheen in his eyes that a person about to scratch away a lottery ticket had.

Snippet of Ellie's manucript: Her immediate desire was to say something snarky. She’d had about five whole gulps of REDACTED blood in less than a week and twice now people were acting as if she were delayed for doing so, probing at her like first-time parents who couldn’t understand why their child hadn’t said their first word yet. But it was pretty difficult to speak without the capacity for language. Ivy had no desire to hunt for random strangers to suckle. She didn’t know how the hell she would even get away with such a thing. The moment someone like her started walking toward another person with even an ounce of intent, she’d be asking for a knee on her neck. And if she managed to convince someone to let her bury her teeth in them, what happened after? Would she just leave them to walk away? REDACTED hadn’t quite left her mind after drinking his blood. A room had been cleared out for him, and even with the door closed and locked behind him, he was there. How many rooms would be made in her head by the end of eternity?

Brooksman College, typically a landscape composed of auburn brick and tall oaks, was sheathed within a thin layer of frost that day. It wasn't quite a snow storm-more so a light drizzle gone berserk, and according to the Brooksman administration-not enough to warrant classes being canceled. Ivy climbed the steps out from the dormitory complex, her shoes leaving behind Doc Marten shaped imprints that were quickly replaced by Leah's own. Her sister grumbled something. A curse to God for choosing her busiest day for sleet. A curse to Brooksman for making her leave her room. And a curse to the other pedestrians for "taking up too much damn space" on the sidewalk. Ivy dug her hands into her armpits and trudged on. At the crosswalk, she led the next gaggle of students across the street. In this direction the wind was blowing right into her face, and she struggled to see past the veil of snow and rain as she entered the quad. What she could make out were the shadows of a space she'd traversed a million times already. The traffic was
