Kind of glad to be able to share No Is Not A Lonely Utterance soon as it offers tools to diagnosis ‘campaigns’ such as this. Not that we need more tools.

Having stripped trans people of their right to be treated with dignity The Times is now coming for people of colour.
Headline: Equality Act blamed for surge in failed race discrimination claims. Don’t Divide Us believes in “colour-blind anti-racism” and campaigns against “divisive” political ideas such as critical race theory being imported from America.

The findings have been published as part of a wider report on equality laws by the organisation entitled “The Equality Act Isn’t Working: Equalities Legislation and the Breakdown of Informal Civility in the Workplace”.

In light of the news this week that Cellebrite has acquired Corellium, here's an in-depth piece I previously wrote about Cellebrite, which looks at how the Israeli firm became the go-to hackers for the FBI and other federal agencies who want to get physical access into locked phones they seize

Apple fights to keep the U.S. government out of its phones. Cellebrite is the leader in helping break in. An inside look at the secretive Israeli company.

With @alexmcclelland.bsky.social
Alex is a white gay with a multiple b&w tattoos on his arms and has a high & tight cropped haircut. He wears a black t-shirt that says ‘Acid’ in a white serif font typeface. His arms are crossed in front of his chest and he is making a ‘gay thoughts’ face.
Mikiki is a white* gay** with one scratchy tattoo peeking out from between an aggressively styled black and fashion-misfitted t-shirt. They are bald and have a dangly crystal earring hanging from a safety pin. Their left hand is up in the air in a very gay way. Their face is scrunched up but their eyes are open. It looks weird. Two crisp gay whites hunch over a white work table while a video projection of Mariah Carey sings Hero live on a white wall. Same two dry whites wearing all black in same black and white room with a projection of Mierle Laderman Ukeles’ Maintenance Art from 1973. She is a white woman with shoulder length hair is on all fours scrubbing the stone stairs of the Wadsworth Atheneum.
Goth gays wearing black on the U-Bahn looking at each other. Same ‘Acid’ shirt, but now Mikiki’s precious Rick Owen’s sneaker boots are visible and their modified/hand-dyed (in tones of green blue white and black) tote bag is present at their feet. They are seated. The surrounding train car is grey.

Self-Obliteration

Ron Athey
nrla30.com/the-artists/...
🖤
Photo of Ron from the waist up. He is bare chested and is heavily tattooed. He holds his right arm out of the frame and his left arm up above his head. He has a teased blonde wig, pinned with syringe tips to his scalp. Blood drips down his face from these piercings.
He stares into the lens of the camera, entranced; his mouth, slightly open. Ron, sitting nude on a tall rectangular plinth in the middle of a dark room with bright lights illuminating him. One is visible within the frame of this image on the left.
He rests on his heels in a kneeling position and holds up a large pane of glass in front of him. The glass is covered in his blood. The blood is coloured a bright red due to being back-lit from the spotlight behind him.

I worked providing harm reduction outreach in many women’s shelters and my mother experienced being unhoused due to intimate partner violence while I was an adult.
The fear of being homeless is omnipresent yet the conversation (similar to requiring harm reduction access) is always individualized.

“Framing the experience of a woman fleeing violence as ‘homelessness’ places the focus of the policy problem on her; it reframes who she is, even though her circumstances were the product of someone else’s violence.”

“Unhoused” and “Homeless” – What’s the Difference?
The best advice from advocates: talk about the issues and use terms that people use to refer to their own lived experience.

Shahir holds in their hands one of three coloured boards in front of their body on the sidewalk outside the gallery, toward the visitor.
The board is a medium brown color, and a blue board peeks out from behind it.
The image was captured from behind the visitor. They are wearing a blue and white pattern shirt and they are facing Shahir a few feet away from them. Shahir wears all white. There are cars parked on the side of the street and green trees and a blue sky in the background. Kelly holds up a photograph of Jessica Karuhanga who is standing at an institutional window, looking out and down toward the ground. There is a brown brick institutional building in the background of the photo.
Kelly is wearing white gloves to hold the photo against the wall.
Standing in front of the photograph is kg who is holding Small cardboard viewing device in their hand and upward their eye.
In the left of the image is a small yellow shelf screwed to the wall with five more viewing devices sitting at top it. Two visitors watch the interpreter/host on a triangular green screen/chroma key backdrop. They are wrapped in the same color, green fabric covering their entire body and our crouched on the floor.
At the Apex of the triangle is a studio light and a white plinth with a laptop displaying a living room scene.
In the background, a bench rests against a yellow orange wall, a roll of black paper is leaning in the corner and lo bil’s photograph is in a bright orange frame with orange backpack straps, hung on the wall. Shahir crouches down toward the floor. Their arms are raised in front of them and are parallel to the floor. They are holding the backpack straps connected to upright orange frame which rests on their head.
They are wearing all white with red and black wrestling boots. The concrete floor is medium gray and the wall behind them is white.
