Last week I taught at my first #archaeologydrawing workshop during the Tribus del Íber Fest in the north of Spain. ¡It was great!

So thankful for everyone who joined me and spent a beautiful evening drawing, chatting about artifacts and discussing the role of #artists in #archaeology.

A paleo-commission from last year for the #experimentalarchaeology program for schoolers at @museodealtamira.bsky.social

I designed the #illustration and the layout of the brochure in order to focus the attention on the pigments and tools used to paint the bisons within the #Altamira cave.

In the foreground, we see a variety of tools used for painting rock art, such as mineral pigments, sea shells, feathers, charcoal, a paintbrush and a grease lamp. In the background, a young woman and a young man prepare red ochre for painting. Further back, within a cave, another woman blows the red paint on her hand to leave a print on the rock.
