I divided some and put them in ziplock bags and popped impossible, larger clumps in plastic boxes, both with vermiculite. I haven’t had great success in the past, albeit with different methods. Still seems like a crap shoot!

Would that we weren’t left to our own devices in regulating it! I’d be much more enthusiastic if it wasn’t being pushed into places where it is destructive.

I think literature teachers are trying to regulate it in the only spaces they control— the classroom. I don’t think it will go away— it’s embedded in so many interfaces, enshittifying many of them. But it’s very useful in others…

I was chair amidst the forced return to campus and so many staff mentioned how much more affordable their lives were during Covid. A small percentage uptick in savings was a huge quality of life boost.
