2019, actually. There was a black and white one? Oh, of COURSE there was, it was an Osamu Tezuka creation.

"Wait, since when did Ghosts 'n Goblins look that good on the NES?"

Hate those Playstation symbols, though. Third party controller manufacturers have got to change the design of the already stupidly counterintuitive button labels so much, you can barely recognize them. Apparently Sony managed to copyright squares, triangles, and circles.

I think it's the AI artwork that's got everyone cheesed. If you're going to charge people money for a video game, *pay* people money to make it.

Here's a fun bit of useless trivia: in my high school, the history teacher thought it would be a grand idea to have the students write explanations for every historical reference. In 1991. Before the internet. The song's obnoxious even when you're not listening to it.

I bought 1941: Joint Strike for a ridiculously low price just before the XBLA shutdown, and got a game that went well beyond my expectations. Admittedly, my expectations were not high at all... I'd originally written it off as another nostalgic cash-in with no clue of what made the original work.

I doubt holding the logo for ransom would have done much to stop the bleeding from the Amiga CD32 fiasco. "Quick! Make a whole bunch of systems that we can't sell in America, or afford to buy from the manufacturer in the Philippines!" Commodore was literally too stupid to live.
