My response was that I thought he did feel physical pain but that he'd trained himself not to care. Everything he did was devoted to creating the perfect conditions to capture his corporeality on film. Keaton's main problem was that he was unable to endure emotional pain, not physical pain.

I heard about this film a while back. Can't wait to see it.

The next morning I told a friend who'd been brought up Catholic. I had to talk my head off to convince her it hadn't been a ghost, and even then she was sceptical. She was adamant she'd had real paranormal experiences. Anyone else out there with stories to tell?

I knew what it was instantly so I could just sort of stand back and 'observe' it. Despite this, when it was over, the fear crept in. Maybe it had been a ghost. But no. I knew better. The conditions were perfect to create a hallucination.

I've never had a supernatural experience unfortunately. However, I have had a counterfeit one, created by an overtired brain. Hypnagogic hallucinations are extremely convincing. I was trying to sleep on the couch at a friend's house when a figure stepped out of the wall and walked across the room.
