Me, a real adult on the phone with my kid’s summer camp counselor:

“Ah thanks for calling and letting me know, Gecko. I appreciate it”

The counselors all use nicknames so now I’m having to relay important information to “Hippo”, “Frog”, “Buttercup”, “Mango”, and others.

One year I wore only a pair of suede booties the entire multi-day trip (2.5 inch heel). I did not bring another pair of shoes with me. 🤡

The next year, I didn’t bring a jacket. My warmest layer was a sweater. All in the name of fashun.

Happy Lunar New Year! I crocheted red eggs for my son and his classmates. These are meant to be worn as a necklace to bring good luck and fortune in the new year. Traditional methods call for dyed real eggs.

It’s a cherished Iu Mien tradition that I’m so happy to share with my kiddo.
