Look, I am not someone who is inclined to think that even a guy as dumb as Trump is literally taking large cash bribes to pardon horrible crimes, but I defy you to suggest another plausible explanation here
WHOA. Trump says he will pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once said that he wanted to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” He had people killed as part of his narco-trafficking ring, which he at times operated directly out of his presidential office.

I love that the streaming-only Criminal Minds reboot is just Criminal Minds but they say shit and fuck and the violence is occasionally slightly more graphic

Reuters reached out to everyone that Trump or his subordinates singled out publicly for retribution, and reviewed hundreds of official orders, directives and public records. The result: the most comprehensive accounting yet of his campaign of payback.

In many ways, the United States Navy and I are much alike, in that we spend a lot of effort, time, and resources on projects that we move very slowly on, blow through self-imposed deadlines for, and then eventually end up cancelling.

Sorta feels like there’s a chance this is backwards: search increasingly running up against the Dead Internet problem (content farming, abusive SEO practices, etc) and deciding that AI summaries were a/the solution. I don’t personally think it’s working! But makes more sense as an explanation imo
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Should have let SV Bank fail

Understand why they didn’t, but should have
Dude who just got the SV Bank bailout two years ago is back banging the cup. It’s a tell.

While we’re sharing inflammatory SW opinions: it’s a bad IP that has made arguably one worthwhile thing since the original trilogy (Andor), and even in the original trilogy, ROTJ is quite dumb (but lovable)

There’s more merit to Marvel movies (up to Endgame at least), and that is not a compliment
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

Even if there’s somehow an appropriate skepticism to the interview, I’m not going to read it, because that framing, (and for that matter, putting that ghoul on the cover looking like anything other than a ghoul), is offensive as hell
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

Mannnnn I honestly have been a AI bubble financial contagion skeptic but I’m starting to wonder

(I’m not an AI bubble skeptic, that one’s hard to deny unless you’re an AGI cultist)
In the memo, “Nvidia also responds to claims that the ‘current situation is analogous to historical accounting frauds (Enron, WorldCom, Lucent) that featured vendor financing and SPVs [special purpose vehicles.)’”

I think the band I actually wanted to be in, back when I was doing the music thing, was We Have the Facts/Photo Album/Stability-era Death Cab, and much of my frustration was that none of the bands I was in ever really ended up sounding anything like that for various reasons
