🇺🇸&🇬🇧 politics, food stuff, maybe 🧶 things. High tendency to repost academic job openings of various disciplines. I hate writing bios, if you know me feel free to suggest edits. I'll be over there, reading or playing NMS or ONI probably.
I might be in trouble, but it will likely be resolved in a mildly comical and heartwarming way, because I watched an episode of The Durrells while folding laundry today.

The East Wing was the public facing side of the White House. It's where you go when you visited for a tour as a citizen, it housed a museum as well. That's what they're destroying - our part of Our House.

This is some absolute tripe. Might be preaching to the choir here in the blue skies, but don't click on idiotic crap like this on the internet.

This is not an exclusive OR situation, and a short internet quiz isn't going to tell you about either one

I also have questions about the artwork in the background.

It's a far cry from when police were escorting people into school because we were a nation that believed we shouldn't be categorized by the close of our skin.

I'd like to point out that Ruby Bridges is still alive, segregation is not ancient history.

Im in the UK and you're number 2 in the play store for free productivity tools, with the rest of the top being AI chatbots (or is Microsoft 365 Copilot the actual 365 software? I have no idea)

I tried the thing where you boil little potatoes and then smash them and roast them. Pretty good! Even better was I got the kid involved in the kitchen and then she ate some, so an absolute win.

Not the most famous, but the first.

I was given 🍆 art the other day. I get a lot more silly coffee here in the UK than I would normally, since the alternative is usually instant coffee 🤢 so I lean in on it being a treat and get a mocha usually.
Also almost all the other fun drinks contain sweeteners now on the UK and I avoid those 🤷🏻‍♀️

There's a lot out there but tbh it's slowed down as issues have cropped up. I also suspect UK news is slow walking any positives to try and cut demand, particularly in light of some prominent online pharmacy faux product and bad dosage debacles

But yeah, they're out there.

Punnets of British strawbs £1 this weekend at Sainsburys, probably peak of the season. It's a tough one for me, growing up in Florida strawb season was like end of February.

A welcome addition to my summertime picky plate supper (tea)

Always surprised at what is allowed to be labeled 'ice cream' in the UK (iykyk). But also, why is this being served in a hospital? #UPF

Australia also does HPV test at home, preventing women from avoiding the testing due to the conditions of doing it in an office.

That said, the 99% is not agreed on around the world. Cancer UK:

Those look fantastic. Pickle relish? I grew up with that, but didn't include this year in deference to children.

A pocketless kangaroo receives an accommodation/accessibility aid, and the entire community flourishes.

Unexpected morning guest. Had a cheeky nap then sauntered off, so I assume it's fine 🦊

Not the most photogenic but I'm really proud of my first attempt at hot dog buns

🤣🤣 iykyk. Not my image, but it is my alt text! Also, it would be better if this didn't say Minister.. US government positions aren't ministers.

Yeah, they already have a plan for that it seems. (This is from the EO about teaching history in schools)

Bizarre British food packaging, take #312
Good thing it was frozen so it didn't all spill out. Also, how should you use a pour spout when things are frozen together? Like, why do this?

From the same EO - apparently we can all tune in to our re-education next year. Also this thing is chock full of 'teachers better not ever discuss, even amongst themselves, the idea that poc might have a different life experience that could affect their access to education'
