I’m a data freelancer. As an ecological quant for hire I help with all things data:
- Analysis, stats, R programming
- Viz + cartography
- Data management + cleaning
- Automated reports
Let’s chat if you have a project you want help with!
I've been fortunate to have a network of data freelancers that have been a huge support in my own work.

I've started a list of some of these consultants (in academia, nonprofit, public sector, and industry). If you are looking for help, check out this list!

Finally got around to switching my in-browser #rstats R Primers website to use the newer better-supported #QuartoPub Live extension, which will now let me eventually add nicer inline feedback someday

“The approach offers a simple, computationally accessible and ✨ genuinely amusing ✨ way to explore the complex ramifications of predator–prey interactions”
📖 Published📖

This paper used human players to impersonate predator-prey interactions combined with mathematical models to explore the complex ramifications of predator–prey interactions and test otherwise data-deficient hypotheses 🌍 🧪

Wild mammals once dominated the mammal kingdom. Not anymore. Today, humans and our livestock account for 98% of the world’s land mammals by weight, while wild land mammals are just 2%.

@shandiya.bsky.social shows how huge data infrastructures like the ALA also show what we *don’t* know about biodiversity, but how Data Mobilisation programs & our new {galaxias} package can help people provide data to fill the gaps 👇👀

Ringtails (Bassariscus astutus) are 'runway models' of the raccoon family. Slender with a long bushy tail & pointed muzzle.

Also known as civet cats & "miner's cats", a reference to how easily they were domesticated by miners in the American Southwest to keep shacks vermin-free.

COYOTE & BADGER alert
✨ 🐕 🦡 ✨
WMF was driving around Point Reyes last night looking for a good spot to see the Aurora Borealis. When we parked the car and got out, we saw some eyes on the other side of the fence. It turned out to be a coyote and a badger. I’m guessing they were hunting together? Or maybe just having a visit.
