In happier news, here’s a semi slug recently rescued from a tent. I don’t often see them looking around like this, so that was a treat. They are kinda precious, honestly.

Volunteered with a rescue this morning and had an amazing time taking some dogs for a beach and coffee shop walk.

Small Puerto Rican Semi-slug (Gaeotis flavolineata) seen in the forest, today. Very cool little snails with a technical tiny little vestigial shell under the mantle. Very cool, pretty little things. Goal for next year is a better camera for sure.

Pics from the field, yesterday! That plant is Heliconia caribaea and it provides a small aquatic environment for multiple invert species, including some mosquito larvae (my invert of interest ofc).

Found some very tiny pseudoscorpions while processing leaf litter samples, today. “Big” ones for scale, although I wish I still had my barbie doll fruit basket…
