But it's lacking that sort of melancholic realism that makes shows like walking with beasts work. Nature is beautiful and cruel, and the ice ages were a time of great life and great loss. IMO the show only gives us half of that puzzle.

I feel like certain moments also made Victor a bit cartoonishly evil? Particularly in the bedroom. Which is fine, but it made the ending less believable for me.
