Highly suggest the audiobook to hear how sardonic Quagmire Tiarello is. Love that he fakes birdwatching as a cover to a girl &then keeps up the facade &starts getting into birds. Chip on his shoulder. Mom isn’t consistently around &takes off for a bit. Middle schoolers will love him. #mslit #bookrec

A4. Some of my favorite collaborators who I really admire as educators nominated me for Teacher of the Year for my building. #TLSkyChat

A1 A class I took in grad school a few years ago motivated me to make a more professional logo in Canva for my school's library. In Canva you can add set colors and things as a Brand Kit. I have one in dark blue, white, and dark gray to go along with our school colors. #TLSkyChat

A2 We put up our window display yesterday! We will add more balloons as students fill out more. I kick off our annual bookmark design contest and spring into reading BINGO challenge right before SLM so they can run through the month. I post number facts on the library’s social media. #TLSkyChat

I went to the US Dept. of Ed. Bluesky and saw the post to the left asking whose job education is and Reagan wanting to dismantle it. I ventured to the new DOE blog. The first &only other post is about homeschooling being a lifeline… 👀😳 #EDUSky

Sometimes it’s bigger scale things like virtual chats with authors & classes during #WorldReadAloudDay. Thanks @martychan.bsky.social, @cylev.bsky.social, @misa-sugiura.bsky.social, @marshaskrypuch.bsky.social & @lorienlawrence.bsky.social for chatting with groups of Panthers yesterday! #wrad #tlsky

Some days are extra reminders of why I love my job. Some days it’s seemingly smaller scale things like finding six 5th graders who avoid reading books they’re excited to try today. 27 books pulled tailored to them. 11 were checked out. Each of the 6 left with 1 or 2. #tlsky #schoollibrary

Why has it taken me this long to start The Inheritance Games book 1? And why did no one in my life make me read it sooner? 80% done & obsessed. 🫣 #yalit #currentlyreading

These are the first four clues on who our visiting author is this year. Any guesses? I’ll share the other four tomorrow. #tlsky #schoollibrary

Heard from an amazing panel about AI in schools, got to hear the Mychal Threets, saw so many awesome Indiana librarians, & presented with a group on Neurodiversity in Libraries today. Thanks ILF for a great conference!

A couple of years ago I started doing top checkouts in different genres lists for the year. I want to get better at tracking/highlighting monthly high checkouts. - Also stoked to see 7 of this year’s Young Hoosier titles as hot reads. #schoollibrarians #schoollibrary #mglit

Today was one of those days where the library calendar looked fairly calm at the start of the day but things got more & more chaotic as the day went. So many things and tech issues popping up.
