I'm that mom from Texas suing Gov Abbott to #ProtectTransKids 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Kristi Noem: “I don’t feel safe in my own home.”

Also Kristi Noem: Made South Dakota so unsafe and unlivable for trans kids that they had to literally flee.

Anyway, thoughts and prayers, Governor. Sending you the exact amount of empathy you gave them: zero. 🫶

Pretty rich for Paxton to spend years writing + defending policies meant to define trans inclusive families as "sinful" while his own family falls apart for "biblical reasons", then ask for "privacy" when he's repeatedly sought access to trans kids' medical files.

Thoughts and prayers, buddy.

As for me, im thriving out of sheer fucking spite and my son is living his best life. And we're all still together... unlike the Paxtons. 💅

(Too soon?)

Today, his soon-to-be ex-wife Angela – who joined us that evening and even brought a homemade dessert still warm from her oven – filed for divorce on "biblical grounds"

In 2016, Ken Paxton had the audacity to sit at my table and break bread with my family knowing full well that my son is trans, then SIX YEARS LATER wrote an opinion stating that families like mine shouldn't exist. Within days, a CPS investigator was in our home threatening to remove our children.🧵

My Texas town had a rally to support immigrants today and my local paper was there and anyway I fixed their caption. ✌️

Half a lifetime ago!! Can you believe it?

He was shorter than me. Now he's 6 feet tall. Where does time go?!

8 years ago today my family was invited to the Obama White House where we met @markhamillofficial.bsky.social. He posed with my son (who is trans) in a WH that fought for his rights. It feels like a lifetime ago and I'm worried that the next administration will try to erase this. Be the resistance!

Our beautiful, powerful short doc "Love To The Max" is about my trans-inclusive family fighting to stay together in the face of persecution -- and is now available in the Academy Screening Room! Who do you know in the Doc branch of AMPAS? Help us get this film on the Oscar shortlist! @newyorker.com

I ADORE how you have this super fucking important job fighting for kids like my son and families like mine and dedicate your accounts to cats. Honestly? We all need that energy.

Love you, friend. My kitters and I are recharging until January 20th. Then we fight like hell.

I am so proud of him. He's a *hero* and a national treasure. I listened from home and he did a brilliant job answering the justices' questions. Thank you, @chasestrangio.bsky.social 💜

My inlaws were here for Thanksgiving this week & kept accidentally misgendering my kitten.

Then they'd stop, correct themselves (without making it a big deal or whining about how hard pronouns are), say the right thing, & move on. Eventually they got it right 💯

Be like my inlaws (but for people)🏳️‍⚧️

...I grabbed some books, found a new venue, planned a new event, and a few days later packed the place with about 400 people who had traveled as far as Oklahoma and Austin for the party....

Feeling super stoked to have Trump back in the White House on the verge of another pandemic. The first one went great! Bonus: Kennedy in charge of public health! 🥳

But at least groceries will cost less with all the farm workers deported and the tariffs which will totally solve everything.

These kids – and families like mine – shouldn't have to do this alone. Besides: we all know how the fucking poem goes:
