This #selfportrait from 2014 popped up on my phone last night, so my #MCM is 34 yr-old me today. Like most (all) of us, when I'm not mindful, I lean into some pretty negative self-talk, so maybe a little narcissism is healthy? I'm way more into 45 yr old me, but 34 yr old me was a very good time 😂

I live near the marine base deploying troops to LA, can verify they are on their way. So it seems appropriate to repost this. Also if you're local to the Joshua Tree area, there are groups of people protesting the mobilization on the streets right now. I'm aware of people at Mel Benson (Park and 29)

I photographed Kirk Douglas in 2009 at his home. The first thing he said to me was "if you break anything, my wife'll kill ya!" There was a large bronze sculpture of his own head next to his pool. Ultimately he was kind and gracious to trust 29-yr-old me and my ragtag crew to create this portrait.

I photographed Kirk Douglas in 2009 at his home. The first thing he said to me was "if you break anything, my wife'll kill ya!" There was a large bronze sculpture of his own head next to his pool. Ultimately he was kind and gracious to trust 29-yr-old me and my ragtag crew to create this portrait.
I was hired to photograph him at his home in 2009. His first words to me were "if you break anything, my wife'll kill ya. He had a large bronze sculpture of his head next to his pool. He was actually lovely and very gracious to trust an unknown kid into his house for this portrait.

My Dr. told me to start drinking kombucha last year and now I’m an absolute convert, but it’s become an expensive habit, so I started making my own! First batch was OK, probably needed to do the first fermentation longer, but I used it to start 2 more gallons.
What flavors should I add to these 2?

Since this is boycott Amazon week, I decided it’s time to finally end our abusive relationship. The convenience isn’t worth it. The reality is I can get what I need locally, and if I don’t need it, I need to stop consuming it. 🌈
