Yesterday, Netanyahu wrote to Israel's President, asking to be "pardoned" for his corruption charges. There is no verdict yet, and he didn't admit guilt, express remorse, or agree to any sanction.

The editorial in today's Haaretz has a one word headline.
It reads "No".

Anyway. Just a little more than 10 years after Corbyn was elected leader of the Labour Party, the grand experiment of taking the British far left remotely seriously can finally be concluded. What a waste of time it all was.

MAIL/EXPRESS/SUN: Britain is broken! Public Services are a mess!
GOVT: Yes. So we're going to invest in better public services
MAIL/EXPRESS/SUN: Ah, but how are you going to pay for it?
GOVT: Here's exactly how we're going to raise more revenue.
MAIL/EXPRESS/SUN: HOW DARE YOU!!!!

I'm both amused and depressed by the way that the horrified reaction to a Budget, which is actually upfront about how more revenue will be raised, is coming from exactly those who always say "but how are you going to pay for all this?"

These scenarios are always expressed as if there's no downside to not raising the money from assets in this way. These elderly homeowners, real or not, use public services & receive state pensions/benefits.
Some sympathy for this potentially made up woman but I wonder how the poster feels about the numerous people who would love to be able to call a house their own and form relationships with their neighbours but can't because of the housing market. Does their emotional plea count for anything?
Mumsnet is already on the case.

This early version, when repeated in the UK over the subsequent few years (before the better known version was on the Muppet Show), used to TERRIFY pre-school me.
Today is the 56th anniversary of the first performance of Mahna Mahna on Sesame Street. You’re familiar with it by now, of course, but... well, it never hurts to be reminded, does it?

To be honest, a rotating leadership model based on the Sugababes lineups over the years would still be better than either of those cranks.

Fuck sake. Chamberlain was 'trying' in 1938.
“At least he is trying… let’s give this a chance.”
