Created an example (very) 'short movie' of a daily task (cutting the grass) to show pupils tha they can plan, film, edit (iMovie) & create music (Garage Band) for there very own movie on the iPads we have in our provision. Here is the 'movie' youtu.be/UijhFY97yKE

I was filming a video on flying the air:bit drone I made, spoiler alert I lost control and it ended up in someone’s garden….wait till the end to hear my disappointment 🤣
Obviously testing this in the middle of a tennis court with a fenced perimeter was not enough!

Wow, incredible surprise when I opened parcel from the amazing team at Make It, the makers of the Air:bit 2 micro:bit drone, they have sent me a WiFi camera to add….that is my half term project sorted!

Very cool. I purchased a second hand DJI Tello drone and used the DroneBlocks app to connect with a simple block coding program made the drone take off, hover then land! This drone is no longer viable but I am looking at the CoDrone as another codable drone option for pupils.

First ‘flight’ of the Air:Bit 2 diy programmable micro:bit drone. Scrappy, mainly to my driving/flying skills, but an amazingly satisfying experience, I know exactly how the Wright brothers felt….full coding and flying tutorial video to follow shortly.

Currently testing Duolingo Max on a 7 day free trial, I am super impressed with the AI drive conversation features. It is incredible how effective (and fun) the video call and role play features are.

The build for the third charity shop robot has not gone well….the motor was not working so I had to dismantle to check it and my heavy handedness resulted in a ‘robot critical’ damage to parts. Learnings from today, check the motor before starting the build…

Here is the first of my charity shop robot kits that I will be building this holiday. The ‘Young Science Multi Kit’ was a bargain £3, and there is 6 different robots you can make, I am going to start with the solar car (watch out Elon & Tesla)
