If you point people to obvious costs that are in range of their experiences, they can comprehend it. They don't readily comprehend "costs" outside their experience like defense spending, corporate tax breaks, etc

I just listened to Heather Cox Richardson's analysis of national defense strategy. It's frightening and reads like a declaration for a new Christian Nationalist Nation. It aligns us with Russia and against the rest of Europe.

But if it had been Biden, it would have been nonstop coverage for weeks.
The president had a MRI but won't say why.

He had bruises on his hands but wouldn't say why.

He just had an 'annual medical' even though he already had his annual medical.

He got shot in the ear but has never released the medical records relating to it.

How is any of this ok?

The good news is that we’re talking about this, posting about this, protesting about this, VOTING about this.

So in the near future this will be rescinded by a sane administration…with a corresponding public celebration.

Chicagoans will pay $76 per person this year for police misconduct settlements.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service
