As December approaches I tend to wind down my love of terrible Christmas films. But I have found an alternative! I've stumbled across the Garage Sale Mystery films. There's loads of them. Everything I love about Hallmark but in a mystery that makes Diagnosis Murder look like it was written by Ibsen.

One from the vaults from me Michael. We’ve just discovered that Netflix are showing Foyle’s War, which we were aware of, but had never seen. An excellent watch, very well acted and ingeniously plotted. Bonus feature; the euphoniously named Honeysuckle Weeks, as Sam Stewart.

I think Netflix were just too cheap to buy more than three seasons... but what would I know? 😉

Finally decided to stop watching Classic Emmerdale on ITV3 - recordings of episodes where building up, as I was watching them more slowly took that as a sign and deleted them last weekend.
Started at 1996 in 2020, ended with 2007 in 2025, so a good run, although can see changes in the show, etc.

We watched the 1st episode of this on catch-up on the recommendation of a friend who, like me, has read the excellent Stephen Booth books.
Not as dynamic as the novels, Fry is way too nice, but it is fairly effortless viewing from Channel 5.
