Not so well lately but on the improve. Hope lies in animal kin, being part of a community of beings, staying within ecological limits.

Been off to other places for a while. Checking out your posts to see what you've been doing. Loved not using computer for past weeks, love the genuine human animal life unmediated by the tech interface and all its beseeching demands. The world is more vibrant, real and liberating without it.

🐝 A love for life shows in the smallest moments.

Stopping to watch a bee at work.
Letting a spider live in the corner.
Planting flowers for butterflies you may never meet.
Kindness to nature is kindness to yourself.

🦉 Coexistence is not a compromise—it’s a collaboration.

When we make space for wildlife, they, in turn, shape the world in ways that benefit us all. Forests grow richer, rivers run clearer, and the clean air hums with life.

What we protect, protects us.

🌿 Biophilia is a love story.

A love story between you and the rustling trees.
Between your senses and the flowers that bloom.
Between your heartbeat and the rhythm of the tides.

We are not separate from nature—we belong to it, we are within it and it is within us.

A bill was introduced to the Australian parliament this week that intends to let the government off the hook for approving certain activities that harm the environment. And this is their idea of environmental law reform?

Definitely NOT multispecies justice.

Protecting salmon farming at the expense of the environment – another step backwards for Australia’s nature laws
After shelving plans to reform Australia’s nature laws, the prime minister wants to walk back existing protections with new legislation introduced this week.

First the bees are gone.
Then the fish.
Followed by the trees.
Then the creatures we always thought would be there.
And the clean water and air.
Then the stories fade. And with it, our sense of meaning, our connections.
Justice for more-than-human life means justice for culture, too.

'Swans, quite obliviously, sent Yeats into despair. And that is one of the very many magical things about people thinking about animals. Pick one – some will speak to you, others not, and you will know instantly – and it acts like a key or a guide.'

Pigeons, foxes, moths, and ants.
They share our streets and skies.

Simple, sacred moments we all can share:

✨ Pausing to listen to the birdsong.
✨ Reading a Nature story to a child.
✨ Having gratitude for the fruits, nuts, seeds, & vegetables Nature so generously provides.
✨ Remembering that you too are part of Nature.

Small moments. Deep connections.

We have no time to stand and stare?

It starts small, matters big

...and you end up feeling that sense of being a part of and a guardian of the web of Life. Being human is a gift that way - you have awareness of the tapestry of Life.

Not only is fish farming unhealthy for farmed fish, it also threatens the marine life surrounding it. In Tasmania, this threatens the Maugean skate. And compounding this wrong, the government also wants to gag environmental groups that point this out...

When you let the wildflowers grow, you offer justice to the bees.

When you slow down for a crossing turtle, you offer justice to the ancient rhythms of the land.

When you choose plant-based, you offer justice to those whose lives would have ended for your plate.

It starts small—but matters big.

We have the power to shape different conditions. To shift patterns. To stop pretending we are separate from the story of the earth and all who share it.

It’s not easy. It’s not convenient.
But it’s possible.
And it matters.

In a world where convenience is king, living intentionally is often seen as inconvenient. But living with thought for others is the truest expression of care—for the earth, for animals, for a future where all can thrive.

The world isn’t made up of separate parts. It’s a living web of relationships—species, ecosystems, people—all shaping one another. When we start to understand those connections, we can act more wisely, more gently.

The problems we face aren’t just "out there," beyond our control. They often arise from the ways we interact with the world. From the systems we participate in, the choices we make, the things we normalize without thinking.

But it also means we can change it by being more aware - #Daretocare.

"If a factory is torn down but the rationality which produced it is left standing, then that rationality will simply produce another factory." ~ Donella Meadows

When we fixate on business-as-usual, we miss the alternatives to create a more sustainable and just world for all species.
