April is #BowelCancerAwarenessMonth – here are the most common symptoms of bowel cancer 👇

It's important to know what's normal for your body. Talk to your GP if you notice anything unusual for you, or any changes that don’t go away.

Share this to help us raise awareness 🔁
Infographic containing possibly symptoms of bowel cancer. These are, but aren't limited to, blood in your poo or bleeding from your bottom, changes in your bowel habits, unexpected weight loss, a pain or lump in your tummy, or feeling more tired or breathless than usual.

But what excites me the most is the idea that the next generation of women might not need to go through years of pain, gaslighting, misdiagnoses, and ineffective treatments. That they might finally get the care and understanding they deserve.

What exciting news! It fills me with hope for a future where pain and daily struggles aren’t just the norm. A future where leaving the house doesn’t mean packing painkillers, or having a hotwater bottle wherever I spend more than half a day... among many other inconveniences.

What I love most about my-day-to-day in science is the investigative/inquisitive aspect of research. I’m always learning something new and it often gets me out my comfort zone 👩🏽‍🔬

Found this picture just in time for Women and Girls in STEM Day… Early 2000s in Asmara (Eritrea), 8-9yo me giving a poster presentation on oral hygiene with Dr Abeba… once a STEM girl, always a STEM girl!
Happy International Women and Girls in STEM Day 🎉
