More cover work today! Nearly 8 hours into this and there's a looong way to go.

The background pattern is directly inspired by the Commonwealth window in Halifax Minster. The human whose body air sprite Brise "adopts" lived in Halifax prior to her death so I wanted to hint at that.

I did it! After a giant writing day(5.5k today) I hit 70k total AND finished the draft of my autumnal gothic historical fantasy!

Logline: Infatuated with a miller's daughter, a fire sprite possesses a con-woman in the pursuit of being perceived.

Release: September 2026 or 2027

Should I be promoting my books instead of making another Barry grid? Yes. Do I care? No.

Here's a new "Which Barry Are You Today?"

So, which Barry are you?

Books with honest titles(see video link for full sketch)

What would your book be titled?

My WIP would be: A Dark and Stormy Night when a Lady Burglar and a Miller's Daughter's Fall in Love and Bury Several White Men Who Was Mildly Inconvenient to Their Existence

I'm not finished drafting my gothic historical fantasy about a fire sprite who possesses a lady burglar to charm a miller's daughter but I'm already gathering cover inspiration. It's been a while since I last saw blue skies at dawn and today the sunrise made this old oak tree look aflame!

How was everyone's month? Mine was pretty grim but thanks to 2 books sold direct on my site, it wasn't my worst month and that's really all I hope for.

I've made a start on a new cover! The Turbulent Appearance of Brise Collier isn't releasing for another year but I can only draw for short periods atm as my hands start hurting pretty quickly so I've made an early start 😅

Here's Tart the family cat, he's on the backcover 🐈

No genAI in THIS house 🛑

I hit 40k in my autumnal (gothic?) sapphic historical fantasy!

Random unedited quote:

“You shouldn’t leave your fire like that while out.” The gruff voice belonged to Mr Hackney – Lyra would remember it anywhere. It was like the dry scratch of boney fingers inside a coffin lid.

They ate the flower entirely, moved to the cosmos and made a new plump friend.
November 21, 2025 at 10:14 AM
Oh but to be a moth caterpillar sleeping safely in a flower that was moved inside to rescue it from winter's frosty grasp 😌

Writers, share the first page of your book or WIP!

New graphic, since I now have 7 books in this series!

You can read the bottom without those on the top row and vice versa.

Which have you read so far? Perfect for those who loved Treasure Planet or thought Pirates of the Caribbean should have been in space 🏴‍☠️

A chronically ill water nymph moves to an Edwardian spa for treatments but falls in love with a human.

Cover art is by me 💜

It's a cosy historical fantasy.

Trying to take a cute promo photo with the cosmos but then there's a peeping Tom (or I should say Barry) in the background 😂

Have you started my *completed* trilogy yet?

A character focused plot, and a queer normative world but this trilogy (and bonus novella) isn't for the faint of heart!

Read it in KU or add the gorgeous paperbacks to your shelf!

This book is beautiful inside out 🪷

It's the perfect read for something cosy and melancholic with a hint of those warm days of spring where the birds sing and the breeze is gentle.

Available in KU or as a gorgeous paperback or hardback!

It's too cold for my cosmos so I pulled it inside as it has a *lot* of flower bulbs yet. Barry doesn't agree with having such a big plant inside 🙈
