Why don't people test their surveys? Get some initial feedback from one or two people. It's not hard. And yet, by not doing this, it totally invalidates all the rest because there are "schoolboy" errors 😔

And this is by an organisation which claims to be helping disabled people. /1
Text with a question and various options. Why do you use these types of transport? Tick as many reasons as you need to. There is a regular service so I can use it quite often The cost It is accessible. Accessible means it can be used by everyone. The routes go where I need them to. It is easy to use this type of transport. The streets are easy to access. The bus stops, train stations and roads make it easy to travel this way.

Today's reading: English language report from University of Coimbra in Portugal about Autistic people's mental health in Portugal. It's got a great history of autism diagnostic changes and the findings ring true to me. I've put some reasonable accommodations in the alt text.

Main sensory and predictability accommodations that autistic people have already found when seeking support from mental health professionals are the possibility of online therapy (62 per cent), followed by professionals who don’t force eye contact or discourage stereotyping (52 per cent), and flexibility in scheduling appointments (50 per cent). The accommodations they most needed but didn’t find included: being told on arrival how long they could expect to wait and if there would be any delays (56 per cent); sensory accommodations in the clinical setting (55 per cent); advance information about what might happen before and during the appointment (51 per cent); encouragement to use headphones, sensory toys and other aids (47 per cent); and the possibility to avoid the waiting room (47 per cent). In terms of communication accommodations, the main ones autistic people found were giving them time to process what was said and waiting for the response (63 per cent), followed by using concrete language with examples (59 per cent), giving them time to make decisions and communicating them later (57 per cent), using non-discriminatory language that doesn’t reinforce stigma (56 per cent), and reducing the stress caused by questions by saying it’s OK not to know or not to be 100 per cent accurate (50 per cent). The main accommodations they needed but didn’t find were writing down important information or instructions to remember after the appointment (41 per cent), showing during the appointment what is to be done outside the appointment (41 per cent) and encouraging the person to make notes of what they want to discuss during the appointment (41 per cent). Autistic people also stressed the need to involve their loved ones in therapy (39%). Autistic people also mentioned that they would like multidisciplinary treatment and support, written resources and guides for self-awareness and understanding of needs, support with organisation and planning, validation and understanding.
