Some journalist should ask what alternative they provide to taxis and why the appointments are 250 miles away.

Brilliant. You did the "journalist's" work.

The encoded agenda does seem to be to portray these people as "victims" for perhaps the loss of some of their privilege while simultaneously clothing the truly underprivileged as leeches on the rest of us. This narrative, chillingly, seeps everywhere...

Understandable when you’re from a superior class of humans, above others, a family anointed by God himself (because certainly no female god would have done this)…👑😁

I guess first step is to require transparency and apply fair rules for taxation that don’t involve policy focused on protecting inherited wealth and privilege the generation of more wealth from wealth…
Bank reform and abolition of tax havens would be a good place to start too but that’s a big task.

Fascinating, isn’t it? The power of words. For all its ills due to lavk of regulations, social media has allowed other voices to be heard and other narratives to be told.
Growing up, with just the press, with some rare exceptions, it was a fairly consistent world view being peddled everywhere…

It’s the vocabulary, I wonder? Subsidies to big business is talked about as “investment” though rarely is the public money used for shareholder equity in exchange. Giving a leg up to the underprivileged is talked about as handouts, living in “hotels” inferring holidays and room service, etc…

He should. Instead, he’ll be received by all major world leaders with all the pomp reserved for his position…🤮

"Even if the U.S. were at war with the traffickers, an order to kill all the boat’s occupants if they were no longer able to fight “would in essence be an order to show no quarter, which would be a war crime,” said Huntley, now director of the national security law program at Georgetown Law."

Yes. We’ve been deeply indoctrinated to criminalize poverty instead of feeling empathy for those who have little…but why do we unquestioningly accept the privilege and public funding of the rich?

Bon appétit!

Wonder why people get outraged by the less fortunate getting help from the system but don’t seem to mind massive handouts to the ultra privileged?

Yes. It will just make farmers financially dependent in the medium/ longterm by making them more and more reliant on public funds to help them out when the polluted rivers make soil poorer. There have to be other solutions to help farmers transition to healthier farming...

Hoping Labour MPs will put the pressure on Starmer to follow party values instead of being docile party leadership followers...
