What would you think if this happened in another democracy?
ICE stormed a residence hall at Augsburg University, detained an undergrad, and aimed rifles at students and staff then admitted they had no warrant to be on campus.

This is state violence. This is terror. And this is exactly what Trump’s America unleashes on our communities.

It costs the average taxpayer $34 a year to fund SNAP.

It costs nearly $200 a day to detain an immigrant in an ICE camp.

Your tax dollars are paying to detain people without due process instead of providing healthcare, food & housing.

Let that radicalize you.

The constant call to win over the new Joe the Plummer, to win the older MAGA voter and the Hockey mom finally makes sense.
I want to win over non voters, the young...
But...they ain't got no money.
I'm more grossed out than before.
Corporate dems want old (white) money that won't change anything.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

One of the many reasons for concern about the killing spree at sea is that the administration is effectively asserting a license for POTUS to kill outside the law those he labels “terrorists.”

A term this administration also applies to domestic political opponents.

The problem is that the powers reliant on Mass AI adoption have sold a lot of Gen X and Millennials on the lie that optimal AI use is in the same bucket as optimal search engine use was in the early oughts. The different is that one revealed truths and helped research, the other deadens and obscures

Not to defend Olivia Nuzzi, who broke every rule in journalism and promoted a charlatan to his current position. But it's incredibly telling that she will lose her job, but RFK Jr. gets to stay in his job despite the reports of his drug use, his affairs and his defenestrating of public health.

The first school to market itself as AI free is going to corner the market on people interested in actually learning. And I would not be surprised if rich families and the children of people creating this tech were the first movers.
My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.

When i lived in IA, it was a purple state. In the last 20 years, IA took a hard right turn and its politics are indistinguishable from Alabama's, complete with abortion ban and regressive taxes. Now they have horrible brain drain and credulously wonder what caused it.

Iowa needs more doctors. Here's what physicians say must change.
New policy wins — including $150 million for residency expansion and new prior-authorization rules — are giving Iowa physicians hope, but health leaders warns real improvements will take years.

We should launch a project of erasing his name from everything the way Egyptian Pharaohs sometimes did with prior rules they didn't like.
They're going to scrape his name from a lot of walls when he is gone.
It appears the administration is now referring to the US institute of Peace as the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace.
