Here's my most recent interview about the book. "You’re a human being. Don’t treat yourself as disposable—that’s the logic of the deathmakers. Make yourself whole. You don’t just deserve healing and joy; you need those things. We need you here, on earth, in your community, where you belong."

October 30th: I was my cat for a karaoke event last Thursday, and did my best to honor my little buddy with facepaint, cat ears, and a cat tail, though I couldn’t capture his true beauty. #halloween

October 31st: I was a Sky Being / Star Person (with Native aesthetics) for a friend’s Inner/Outer Space themed party. I felt so beautiful and Indigenous that I thought I should dress this way more regularly. #halloween

Finally made some coloring cards pulling from my #Anishinaabe graphic set… we have 4 images in black linework: a canoe with florals holding 5 people, a backpack with cultural designs, books with cultural designs punctuated by bison bookends, and moccasins surrounded by floral designs. #ojibwe

I complimented a queer acquaintance on their glasses—this person always has cool glasses. They let me try on their glasses and I was absolutely surprised and delighted that they looked good on me too. This is a style I have never tried before, rimless on the top with rims on the bottom. #vooglam

Came across this forgotten photo on my phone, taken at a prior workplace during a time when free speech was frankly not being protected and institutional processes were inconsistently applied. I had an image of an Ojibwe warrior on my desk to remind myself to be strong. #indigenize #resist

After an intense week of moving and whatnot, I am now having a case of revenge bedtime… carving out some mental space just for me because, well, work beckons tomorrow, soon to be today. Lots to do.

Attended a beadwork workshop taught by a young teacher named Saturn! During the class, I stitched one row of turquoise-colored beads around two plastic sparkly pink star cabs (with star glitter), and will go through my own bead stash to see what rows of colors I will add next. #nativebeadwork
