First measurable snowfall of the season in the Boston area. My coastal town picked up about 5 inches. Somewhat more than predicted due to ocean enhancement. Now it’s just been cold and sunny. Might be a bit more on Christmas Eve.

Last day of #CSEdWeek so all my students learned about Grace Hopper and got their own nanosecond. How did you #EduSky folks celebrate?

Having my Intro to CS students try to decipher the Pig Pen substitution cipher. Lots of “Oh! Now I get it!” moments. #EduSky #Ciphers #CyberSecurity Unplugged activities can be very helpful for understanding CS concepts.

Robot day for my students. I brought in my Cue robot from Wonder Workshop and the GiggleBot from Modular Robotics. Both are sadly no longer manufactured but the students have been having fun using #MakeCode and the #BBCMicroBit to get the GiggleBot running.

Rocking the #MicroBit in my Intro to CS classes. Next week I plan on bringing in some of my robots to get even more fun going. Random numbers, radio transmitter, gestures, events, variables, loops, etc. Great way to teach CS! #EduSky

My students have started to use the #BBCMicroBit and #MakeCode. The school district shared this on their Facebook page. #EduSky. It’s been a fun way to learn CS.

MicroBit action! I introduced my students to these tiny and powerful devices with great success. I really like MakeCode for its simplicity and clarity. Without any prompting most students figured out how to make music notes too. #edusky
