Who could have imagined that a narcissist would cut funding for something that doesn’t immediately benefit him?

I never would have guessed that this guy would kill people for his own benefit just bc he’s done it before including all those anti vaxers that died in pain begging for a stab. Huh.
We talk about Bezos, or Citi, or Big Tech, but cancer's brand is seriously in the toilet. Everyone hates it. And yet, day one hit from Trump/Musk was to shut down all federal funding for cancer cure research. And it's still mostly shut down. Have you ever known anyone with cancer?
Looking at some survey data here. Trump/Elon cutting off all cancer cure research is the issue that freaks voters out more than any other, also the one they've heard the least about. Important for voters to hear more about this.

Dear manager, this week I:

1) knew when to hold them,
2) knew when to fold them,
3) knew when to walk away,
4) knew when to run, and
5) did not count my money while sitting at the table (there will be time enough for counting when that nazi fires my ass for no reason)
Dear manager, this week I:

1) Woke up
2) Decided what type of man I will be
3) Walked a total of 1,000 miles, split into two segments of 500
4) Fell down at your door
5) Da da da (da da da), da da da (da da da), da da dum diddy dum diddy dum diddy da da da
Dear manager, this week:

1. I have run
2. have crawled
3. I have scaled these city walls
only to be with you
4. But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
5. But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

Today is the #DayOfRemembrance commemorating Executive Order 9066 and the government's mass incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII. Eight years ago, I wrote about visiting Manzanar, what life was like in the camp, and how the National Park Service plays a role in teaching civil rights.

You’re telling me that a USAA thinks this is a sentence:

“Anyone imperiling others violating our laws.”

This sounds like it was written by one of Elon’s interns.
Trump’s DC US Attorney says that “Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in any way that impacts” what Elon Musk’s people are doing will be investigated by his office since that “may break numerous laws.”

Look. You can’t give yourself a nickname even if you do some light b&e for the richest man in the world.

Your name’s Ed.

This being the key to Trumpism. Just make life simplistic. Reality is scary. The world isn’t easy. Life is hard. Lying to people who want to be told you will make their life easy is effective esp with so many media outlets echoing your BS.
... finally, it reaches the final destination of every such term on the right: it just means "Other." Bad. Not us.

This is because the authoritarian personality -- which more than anything defines the current right -- is highly binary, averse to complexity, fuzziness, edge cases.

“Now” is doing a helluva lotta work. What were they acting like for the years before now, if not power hungry warlords?

This is horrible. And this clip sounds bad (bc it is) but with these idiots in charge, it might be the only time he can say this isn’t “standard” in air travel.

We don’t know what it’s like to have the FAA decimated by morons. Flying could become a giant game of Russian roulette.
"Obviously it is not standard to have aircraft collide. I want to be clear on that." -- Sean Duffy, our new secretary of transportation in the new awful administration.

Put your phone down and talk to people. Like face to face. Be engaged. Your phone is killing you.

And vote. Every election. Get informed and vote.

This is what we need to see.

“Proposal” or “attempt” being the word we should be seeing from Dems and media.

Don’t normalize the bullshit
Trump’s proposal to strip birthright citizenship from those born in this nation is unconstitutional.

In Illinois, we follow the law.

This is only the start of attempts to undermine the rule of law, and Illinoisans can count on me to stand against unconstitutional actions.

Yes and not just the Court but Congress, the military, etc.

Trumps team learned not to bring in respected people. They might say no. So they bring in nothing but sycophants.

Rs in congress have to stop confirming these people.
I would caution people to stop relying on the Constitution as written to have any meaning other than what the people Trump put on the Supreme Court says it means.

"He can't do that" is not a useful response to the things he's going to do. The correct response is "Will the Court uphold that?"
Trump cannot abrogate birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment by way of executive order. That’s not how constitutional rights work.

Media reports that behavior they spent the last decade normalizing has become normal for people who came of age in the last decade.

/falls on the floor from head spinning
"For a whole cohort of younger voters, Trump and Trumpism are how they came to politics. For some, they’re what they prefer. For others, they’re merely an unwelcome reality of American democracy. But in either case, he is their normal."
Trump is a dire threat to American democracy. But, for a whole generation of voters, he’s entirely normal.
