Another survey plug (this time with an infographic). We're looking for young autistic people (16-26, no diagnosis required) in the UK to take part in our survey. Whether you love social media or hate it, we're interested in your views about it! Survey closes 31st March, RTs appreciated.
Survey participants needed for project about understanding the use of social media in the daily lives of autistic young people Who can take part: Anyone in the UK aged 16-26 who identifies as autistic. We welcome participation from non-speaking people, as well as individuals from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups. People under 18 will need their parents consent. What taking part involves: completing an online survey about your use of social media, your interests, and how you feel about interacting with others on social media on the topic of your interest Compensation: There is no direct compensation but survey respondents will be entered into a draw. The BAAL Language and New Media SIG and BAAL Health Communication SIG are pleased to announce the CfP for our 2024 seminar on Digital Health Communication, taking place on 24th May 2024 at Queen Mary, University of London. The seminar addresses and discusses our shared interests across health communication and digital media. Our aim is to foster dialogue between researchers in both fields, share relevant findings across both areas, and encourage future collaborations. We welcome papers that originate in either health communications or digital media research, but especially encourage papers that research at the intersection of both areas. Topics of interest may include: Methodological approaches to researching digital health communication Linguistic analysis of forums with health-related topics such as illnesses or vaccinations Representations of health and illness in social media discourses Use and design of health and/or wellness applications on mobile phones Topic include (cont'd) -Digital communities around illnesses or chronic conditions -Digital interactions and digital tools in healthcare -Digital discourses around wellness We welcome papers that showcase new methods, theories, approaches and explore emerging digital contexts. We particularly encourage submissions from students and early-careers researchers, as well as “work-in-progress”. Hybrid attendance is only possible for attendees who will not be presenting. Presenters are asked to attend in-person.
