I miss the days when politicians paid a price for lying. Chicago is a fantastic city and as someone who lives here I can attest that I t’s definitely not a war zone. The lawless thugs of ICE should go home.

My Chicago neighborhood, Humboldt Park, is usually peaceful and relatively quiet, for a major city. This evening there are five helicopters hovering overhead. They are intrusive and unsettling for me, and I imagine they are terrifying for my Latino neighbors. This is all just so wrong.

Nicely done. This Chicago resident has never felt unsafe, but I would feel better if the state of Indiana 20 minutes away had better gun laws. I do worry for my Latino neighbors in this authoritarian invasion.
