it's been almost 1.5 yrs, and everyone seems healthy so far. but i know we most likely won't have the babies much longer. i love them so much. they are so sweet. i'm going to miss them so much, esp our little girl, Galina, who loves to sit and sleep w me.

we got them from the municipal animal shelter, where they were undoubtedly going to have short lives. no one was going adopt fatally-ill kittens. but we decided we'd give them good lives, no matter how brief they were. we wanted them to be loved while they were here.

he was, however, very lonely, having lost his two siblings. but we couldn't adopt other cats and risk him infecting them. so we did something that seemed bananas at the time - we adopted two kittens who already had FeLV

our kitten passed away after only a year and our 11 yr old went soon after, but our middle cat, Elias, who was 5 yrs old at the time, stayed healthy

a while ago, we got a kitten from foster and it turned out that the kitten had FeLV and had communicated it to our other cats
