But the most frustrating part was, this was right after Trump had signed the EO to end birthright. And they discussed how it would "never pass through the court"; never discussing why it wouldn't; still very much pro republican, pro Trump. 😅

I attended a small wedding of Indian immigrants in US back in Feb (before the market crashed) and 90% of them were pro Trump because he'll give Indian imms greencard and get "illegal immigrants" out of the country.

I like this but I assume you aren't targeting mobile users atm?

I don't think my photos app has ever crashed (in my 5 years of using a pixel phone) 😅

I wish there were an option to bypass the reduced motion setting. I usually don’t like animations (which is why I have them turned them off in settings), but they’re fun to see on a site like this 😅

I also do not have the grace to give to adults, who believed lies or, decided to sit it out - I should technically, but I don't. As an bi POC woman immigrant in tech, this has been a horrible time for me, and I just don't have the capacity anymore. This isn't true for religious affiliations.

Keep in mind, I am coming from a perspective of someone who came from a "third-world country" to US 8 years ago, assuming some things are inherently considered and valued as "rights" in US. Being friends with people who don't value those as much (or are against them), is beyond my capability.

I think it would all be a different story, and I would be very much aligned with you if we had the political climate of say, 2008 (yes, I was a kid then and not in US, but I can read history books). The current vote decisions (if not political affiliation), are associated with my deep core values.

Yeah, if they didn't hold position that X is less important than other things (even if they aligned on the topic, but not on the order for extremely important topics), then I already know the one major thing I need to know to be friends with someone.
February 13, 2025 at 12:46 AM
I think we started with the base of "I won't be friends w/ someone of religion X" is same as "I won't be friends w/ someone who voted for the current president", and I was explaining why that isn't true. I have no interest in trying to change minds of adults, especially on topics like these 🤷‍♀️

I can agree with all of this from the perspective of a political candidate or campaign manager. But, I find it difficult to apply these concepts when it comes to making friends. I don't understand what necessitates this understanding if I want to be friends with someone?

I think MacWhisper has this. (Doesn't have talk to my notes, but fully local desktop audio recording and transcription).

One of the main aspects of voting that makes it different to any other forms of social acceptance -- is the ability to vote in private. You can white lie to be accepted to a community while still voting in accordance to your beliefs (unlike religious ceremonies for example).

मनमोहक (दिलकश might be better) and साझा aren't as commonly used. You might want to say:

"मैं अपनी सभी तरकीबें यहाँ बाँट रहा हूँ!"

But also, people usually learn terminologies in Latin script, so they might prefer CSS, JavaScript, SVG, और Canvas, especially for SVG and CSS since they are acronyms.

Do you mean Typst over LaTeX? I guess, Typst is easier, imo much more readable (because it is a version of markdown), and doesn't end up needing multiple compilations for bibtext to work. Overleaf is pretty nice (it is what I use day in and day out), but it feels jankier (and less natural) to me.
February 6, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I think you'd really like typst (assuming you like markdown that is)!

Corca has a functionality of copy text and paste as LaTeX (in case you ever need to use LaTeX again)

Tangential, have you tried corca.app for math writing, and/or typst.app?

😂 this made me lol so hard, it scared my cat who was peacefully sleeping on my lap 😂. Thank you for a laugh so early in the morning.

@samwho.dev Oh yeah, I totally agree. It is definitely a part of my upbringing where you wrote "formal/official" content differently than general purpose content, which is possibly why I have landed on that distinction.

Oof, they all are $500/yr. That is expensive. I think a setting that defaults to home is fine (and then you can auto-trash empty documents).
