commercial-oriented fields such as dermatology or plastic surgery are highly concentrated, whereas essential specialties such as pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, and emergency medicine remain unevenly distributed in non-metropolitan areas.

(2) Specialty-Specific Patterns
We found that the differences between public and private distributions vary across medical specialties:

(1) Private vs. Public Distribution
We found that private hospitals and clinics are more clustered in metropolitan regions, while public facilities show broader spatial coverage but remain limited in some areas.
