Baby Tell Me What To Do
Brad Evans (1966)

I discovered this track for the first time this year. I know nothing about the artist. It sounds like it had hit potential, though, melodic 60s.

There are some recent additions to the street furniture that are pleasant to see. The local knitting group are still going with their mailbox toppers. If it ever dries up, I might go on a local walking tour before the weather gets to them further as the reindeer already look a little bedraggled..

Thanks, I assume, to the current battles between cold and warm air over the US dumping a lot of snow in places the Jet Stream is strong. The winds from the SW mean temperatures going above average again
Today's (6th December) maximum temperatures and anomalies (compared to '91-'20 average) from SYNOP observations.

#Swanage was the warmest location with a max #temperature of 13.4C.

Latest renovation from car boot in September.

A 2013 Bridge Direct 'Pinkie Cooper and The Jet Set Pet Dolls' now back in an original outfit with only some minor staining. The fashion dolls were only on sale in 2013/2014, and they were modelled after the English Toy Spaniel dog breed.

Eloise
Barry Ryan
UK no 2: 1968

At number 86 on the Billboard Charts, his only US entry, and his only top 10 in the UK, covered by The Damned in 1986 (UK no 3), is the fitting finale to the week featuring Barry Ryan.

A busy day for the husband with the dolls and another restoration. A relatively good condition Tammie, a friend of Pippa doll circa 1973/74 with the walking mechanism still functioning. Wearing a dress from "The Athens Collection". The only real remaining flaw is her head is paler than her body.

As much as I enjoy Eurovision and I do, at least this year, it will end before midnight. 😊

Since when did toasters in the shape of a cat become the must-have kitchen electrical?
December 4, 2025 at 5:54 PM
The latest doll restoration is a Palitoy Action Man c1970 that certainly has seen war action. He is wearing the black sweater and gun and holding a grenade from the "French Resistance" outfit. He has little dents & holes in his face and torso, cracks in his right wrist, and left foot falling off. 😊

I have been featuring Barry Ryan tracks this week and wanted to know what happened to him. The family never got the chart success they deserved.

Paul Ryan (twin brother) died age 44 (1992) Lung cancer.

Marion Ryan (mother) died 67 (1999) Heart attack.

Barry: Died age 72 (2021) lung disorder. 😕

A bonus for today.

Paul and Barry Ryan clearly inherited their singing genes from their mother Marion Ryan, a popular British singer in the 1950s.

Here she is singing, That's Livin' - That's Lovin (1963).

Pictures Of Today
Paul & Barry Ryan (1968)

It is a bit like The Small Faces do Sgt Peppers. Incredible British pop psych from the twins from Leeds, their last single as a duo. Criminally underrated, a total flop at the time. 🤷‍♂️

It's a slightly weird one and seems an odd reading, but at 17.5c Tibenham Airfield, near Norwich, was the warmest place place today 5 degrees warmer than anywhere else including just down the road from Norwich. 🤷‍♂️

A few more from Barry this week. A cover of 'The Little Anthony & The Imperials' 1966 classic Northern Soul song. He made some great covers, but this wasn't released as a single.

Can't Let You Go
Barry Ryan (1971)
UK no 32

Barry Ryan had 14 UK chart entries either solo or with his twin brother Paul but his only top 10 was Eloise. A lot in his back catalogue to enjoy. This took him into 70s Glam.

A cracking album supplying two hits in my top 1000. This and 'What's The Drawback". The Pop rock band is from Nashville. This was surprisingly only a minor hit.

Theme From "Supercar"

This version of the Barry Gray theme by Charles Blackwell and His Orchestra is very catchy. Mr Blackwell worked with Joe Meek.
