By increasing school hours to 8.30 - 17.00, you could make kids do 1 hour of sport everyday plus extra creative lessons/tuition.

This would help parents align with their working hours which would be a boon esp. for single parents.

Pay teachers extras would be the only significant additional cost.

Education is of course important but schooling also acts as a very efficient & cheap socialised child minding function.

What we should do is increase school hours to match normal adult working hours - filling the additional hours up with sport, creative hobbies & extra tuition.

HBO in 80s was a new small company with limited budget that lost many subscribers once theyd watched the "1st few films they wanted to see that HBO aired".
