Regarding TTRPG safety tools
The only safety tool I openly declare in my games is a vague “ Pause Card.” When it’s shown, the game pauses immediately—no explanation needed. Everyone can take a break or grab something to drink.

I have talked to people a lot over the years about how not-the-norm our modern ideas of 'canon' are. It wasn't very long ago that long running movie series like Bond or Godzilla or whatever, would only have a vague canon that really only established the status quo that you'd go into each movie with.

Having just finished @karenhao.bsky.social’s Empire of AI, I’m struck by quite how much of the current AI industry is built on groupthink and cultish ideologies. If AGI is really the threat it’s meant to be, why focus on scale at the expense of exploring other possible methods?
remember when the Roko's Basilisk concept broke nerd-crank containment and someone effortlessly dismissed it as "imagining in the future there'll be a boot of such enormous size that you have to start licking it today"
is there a speculative concept that's less scary than the Technological singularity? tech is going to escape human control and everybody dies? that's fucking stupid.

How is it not obvious that people need their healthcare costs to not go up more than they need a restoration of air travel?
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.
