The mayor has clearly chosen her side. The city has chosen its side. They have all the money and resources in the world to harass activists but nothing to implement meaningful change to make our streets safer.
Jonathan Hale was arrested by LAPD today for painting a crosswalk, even as the city of Los Angeles funnels more money to LAPD and does gymnastics to avoid implementing HLA.

@mayor.lacity.gov, Jonny has made repeated attempts to meet with your office and has been iced out. Angelenos deserve better.

The bizarre stuff Mayor Bass & City Council come up with to appease drivers is just... 🤯
Feel like this should be big news? StreetsLA is proposing to basically stop repaving our streets next year and instead do 1000 "large asphalt repairs", a term that sounds like it was made up by lawyers to get around ADA requirements. See p.154 here:

You can't make this stuff up.
Next up was my appeal on City repaving of Whitsett Ave, which the city agreed did trigger HLA. I requested they add two crosswalks, city staff recommended no crosswalks, but spending 6 months coming up with a plan to fix one traffic signal walk-button.

The City of LA sure does not want to be caught red-handed.
Theoretically the dashboard map shows the city's "determination" of whether a project triggers Measure HLA... but the map omits the 700+ street resurfacing (Pavement Preservation Program) projects that the city has done since HLA became city law. [cont'd]

With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

Anthony Orendorff’s lawyer, Ricci Sergienko, set the stage for whats really happening in our city.

The people of LA see through @mayor.lacity.gov’s lies. LAPD is collaborating with ICE, DHS, & CBP to terrorize our communities & repress anyone who dares to push back.

He drew his gun with one hand—while fumbling to open the car door with the other.

The "agent" did not seem to be aware someone else was already recording his vehicle.

The best place to get coverage of the protests in LA is from video from individuals on the scene. The totalitarian government is lying about them and the traditional media is largely unreliable — complicit or fatuously both-sidesey.
