I immediately started a new file with classic controls + all screen defaults and played for another 3 hours... forgot it was literally RE4 aiming before RE4!

Got to 40% progress again before calling it a night. Too much fun trying to improve your last file completion time.

Hell of a spread. I regret not giving Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword a replay earlier this year. I'd previously played it before I knew about Itagaki creating the game specifically for his daughter to enjoy.

This player gets every inch of grazing into their speedrun so that they have enough power to shred bosses in seconds. We're not just waitng for the screen to scroll up here.

Always enjoyed the game casually for its versatile weapon system, but the more I learn how to build significant power in arcade mode, the scoring feels less like a chain around the neck and more a fire under your ass. Everything handshakes here - scoring, weapons, enemies, bosses, environments.

You know something that rocks about Metroid Prime Remastered?

Hmm, today I think I'll play Hard mode.

Hmm, today I think I'll replay Hard mode with Gyro controls.

Today I think I'll replay Hard mode with classic controls.

Today I think I'll replay Hard mode with minimal upgrades.

God help me.

Dread is the ultimate power fantasy side of the Metroid spectrum, but Prime deftly balances the survival aspect with its fluid gameplay movement. Traversal feels professional as hell, but wits will actaully get you there.

Echoes will eventually take this a notch further.
