Four years ago today this book came into the world. It's still my proudest moment. I'm not usually one for blowing my own trumpet, but this is such an important book you should read it if you haven't.

Teaching trauma experientially with therapists through four lenses of disconnect in Siracusa this week: from self- body, feelings, sense of self; from other - relationship, kinship, intimacy, love, affirmation; from the land; and from the beyond - imagination, creativity, mystery, purpose.

I was invited to teach a workshop in Siracusa over three days. With an international group we explored trauma as disconnection. Despite the heavy subject they felt lighter, calmer and more grounded by the end. It is such a privilege to do this.

I have studied violence for years in an attempt to understand WHY we humans hurt one another so. All that makes sense is simplicity, beauty, kindness, compassion in small and unremarkable things, for the world and for ourselves. Stop the hurt in multiple small ways, please. End.

Happy February! My intention is to watch the sunrise on the first of every month. Today it was accompanied by the song of a linnet, a robin, and song thrush and a common pigeon.

Wishing all of you a good new year. Not amazing or perfect, but simple, kind and settled. May that be enough. My resolution is to watch the sunrise on 1st of each month. It's not as spectacular as last week but it's a new day. Happy new year!
