Building a 10mm scale skirmish board on a couple old filament spools. Trying a rough layout here; Not sure if I'm happy with it. Don't know if it's too crowded, too open, not vertical enough... plus, I need to place a few elevators down to the underground level.

I wasn't done with autumn yet...

I made bread. It went wrong at almost every step, completely failing to rise much at all while proofing, sticking to the proofing bowl and ripping the top of the dough off, etc... And then it surprisingly turned out really nice, but just too small.

Why didn't I post this before. Drawing of a morel mushroom using (primarily) my home.ade walnut ink... though its so not waterproof it really is more like using watercolour.

Went for a small walk yesterday and started this drawing on a park bench. Finished this afternoon at home. 90% Derwent Inktense pencils, which I quite like for this sort of kids book style, plus some watercolour and standard soft coloured pencils

I have made a tiny batch of walnut ink, from the shells of the black walnut tree in the neighbor's yard. Since this pic was taken, it got boiled down further to aout 1/3 of what's seen here, and darkened. But I went out for a walk and collected a bunch more whole walnuts for a second, larger batch.

Prints! 20 of 'em! And very few are fuckups!

Also got some self-adhesive laminate sheets... so combine with matte sticker paper, some stamps I carved, and a little watercolour, and it's handmade sticker time! Just have a lot of cutting out in front of me.

A couple watercolour mixed media sketch pages. One only half done.

Lino block has been carved for the snarky lighthouse print.
Also pictured, some soon to be bookmarks.

Roughing out a possible idea for a new print.

I understand the urge behind it (my social battery is teensy tiny) but I get so sick of the "I want get away from everyone and live alone in a cabin the woods" mindset. Solitude won't save us; Our isolation from one another is part of the problem.

Problem solved... annoyingly, the solution was "spend money on better supplies" 🥲
Smoother paper, oil based ink instead of water based.
The paper is a bummer because I really wanted to use my handmade paper.

Test prints. They're not coming out so well, and I'm not sure what's causing the problem: paper, pressure, ink type, ink load?

If anyone has suggestions or advice, it'd be much appreciated.
Done with speedball water based ink, on home made paper.

Planning out a new lino print, but my brain just keeps repeating "I feel like I've basically seen this exact same image out there before, only better. Have I actually? Why can't I remember where?"

Pulped a bunch of scrap paper and paper packing material from deliveries and recycled them into new sheets. The book press, unsurprisingly, does a much nicer job of getting the papers nice and flat than I was able to achieve before.
I'd like to use these sheets for printing linoblock prints.

Started embroidering this patch for my jacket months and months ago... then life turned into absolute shit for a while, so I only just finished it this afternoon.
Largely, it was an experiment to see if I could achieve a mossy look.

Meh. Painted / drew these. Mixed feelings.

Got an antique, cast iron (and heavy as all hell) book press today.
Nothing has been squashed in it yet, but I'm hoping to use it double-duty as a lino print press in addition to the more typica book pressing and general squrshing.

Human artists, use only one photo of a tiny, painted toy soldier to convince people to follow you.

I carved a walking stick from a fallen branch. Still need to fill some cracks and oil or varnish it, and figure out something to protect the point that touches the ground.
