When #scicomm = learning by laughing! Last Saturday, I took part in an improv show by The Catalyst (thecatalyst.ch) - an Anglophone sci-tertainment collective based in Lausanne, CH. I gave a 5-min layperson-friendly talk on #workingmemory, which the improvisers then used as inspiration for a skit 🧠🎭

And another #ICWM2024 post! For those that missed my poster, here it is. I am showing 3 years worth of experiments, split into effects of multisensory distractors on #workingmemory performance in purple, and performance effects of multisensory memoranda in yellow.

What a wonderful #workingmemory time at #ICWM2024 🧠 I learnt a lot, got to discuss ideas and get feedback from the brightest minds in the field, all while having a great time. So glad to be a part of this community!

Last week, I guest lectured on scientific writing & publishing in a brilliant initiative by @evievergauwe.bsky.social - a Master in Psych course on good research practices & the hidden curriculum in academia. One semester of things I wish I knew when I signed up. So happy to have been a part!

The Jacobs-funded mini-team is representing at SSECR 💪 Our posters on the effects of distractors of different sensory formats on developing #workingmemory generated lots of interest.

Watch this space for papers coming soon!

My time at the @womcogdevlab.bsky.social is officially over. Though it’s sad to leave, I am thankful for an amazing 3 years, all the support, collaborations, important lessons and fun times… And this decked out desk on my last day💖

On to new adventures in #workingmemory and may we cross paths soon!

6/8: The decoding generalised over time, showing that representations detected at perception were also detectable during the WM maintenance period.

5/8: The answer: YES WE CAN. We found above-chance decoding between visual, spatial and verbal information during perception, and WM maintenance.

I’ll do that too. I guess another thing to be mindful of is what language your post is in. Maybe yours was auto-set to French?
